1959 Linemar, Disney Friction Airplane in Original Box
Wonderful lithographed tinplate two piece airplane featuring many of Disney characters. Friction motor rotates four triple-blade propellers as it moves forward. Scarce toy comes complete with highly prized original box. Beautiful multicolor design highlighted with images of Mickey, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, and others. Features triple vertical tail design with six Goofy's, solid rubber tires with chrome plated hub (missing left hub), tin rear wheel, and metal propellers. Colorful box illustrated with Mickey hanging out of the cockpit window holding onto Donald by one hand. Goofy holds onto Donald's left leg. Pluto crawls on top of the fuselage. "Disney Airplane" printed in rainbow colors appears on the endflaps. Size: 6" long fuselage. Wingspan 7½". Sold: Jan. 2006
